Background
The ACM Governance page could have thousands of policies and the policy names are not always descriptive enough. We have been hearing that the ACM Governance page should provide an easy way to display policy descriptions in the table.
Goal
As an SRE, I want to easily create, edit, and display policy descriptions within the policy table so that I can have a clear understanding of what individual policies are for.
Experience
Following the existing design pattern using the expandable section (PatternFly), we can establish the desired experience. While it is currently dedicated to the annotations such as “Standards,” “Controls,” and “Categories,” adding the policy description to the existing space as below should make sense.
The policy description is NOT a column. When the column management feature arrives, the expandable section behavior should not be affected. In other words, the expandable section holds the policy description only.
And we are adding one optional text field for policy description on both UI and YAML.
This will be reflected on the wizard review.

When the description is empty, show “add.” On click, this takes to the “edit” of a policy detail page.
